I've always been a very shy person, it's very hard for me to make new friends. This summer this changed completely when I attended my College Prep camp in Georgetown. When I got there I was alone, my parents family friends left me in the registration area and then they left. At first I was intimidated by all the kids that were around, many of them had already made friends and I was scared that I was going to be alone. After signing up I went to my dorm where I got to meet my roommate who turn our to be really nice, she was from Abu Dhabi, we talked a little and then we went to get lunch. However when we finished eating she met up with her friend, with whom she came with, and I was alone again. I saw many people who begun to make friends but I was just too scared to open up to people. As the time passed I realized that if I didn't open up to people or made any effort to talk to them I wasn't going to make friends. So I approached to two girls sitting in a bench I presented my self and then we begun to talk. Little by little I begun to loosen up and I made many incredible friends that in the end became really close to me. I am glad to have met so much people because of all the things I was able to learn from them, like their cultures and more, and because of all the memories I made with them. I am grateful that I was able to overcome my shyness and made friends which whom I had one of the best summer of my life.
